Listen, I know the general opinion about public speaking. It’s scary for most people. I’ve mentioned above that studies have shown that speaking in public is the #1 fear of the average person. Number 2 is death!

For most people, speaking in front of a peer group, meeting, or crowd of people is about as uncomfortable as it gets.

I understand what you are going through as I used to be just like that. There was a time in my life where I had the opportunity to be promoted to be an executive of my company, thanks to my great performance and contribution. I still remember it clearly, it was a Tuesday morning where I’m suppose give a presentation to a group of clients regarding the company’s new service to be rolled out.

When you aren’t properly prepared, and you don’t have a process, it can be terrifying to try and speak to the idea in front of a crowd. And let’s face it, if you can’t speak to a group, you can’t lead a group. If you’re not confident, they won’t be confident in you. Fear undermines confidence, and that kills leadership.
